It was quite remarkable to say the least. And how fitting it was to have Yankee Stadium – The House that Ruth Built, which is hosting its last Midsummer Classic – go out in such a grand style.
“It seemed like the Stadium didn’t want it to end. That’s what we were talking about. It just wanted baseball to continue. I thought it was fitting,” said New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter after the game.
To see 40 of the game’s old warriors line up at their respected positions with this year’s starters before the game began was outstanding.
Watching the game unfold, you knew something was on the verge of happening. With the American League trailing, 2-0, an unlikely hero, J.D. Drew, hit a two-run shot to tie the game. When Drew came to the plate for his first All-Star at-bat, he was besieged by the booing of loyal Yankee fans. The booing, however, came to an abrupt end when he hit his game-tying smash.
Drew’s performance earned plaudits from those in attendance, MVP honors and, yes, a brand new vehicle. Of course, a baseball player winning an automobile for his effort is nothing new. Heck, Ty Cobb won several cars for winning the American League batting title.
Drew, who was groomed in the St. Louis Cardinals’ farm system, won over the fans of Boston toward the end of last season, and he, for a moment, even won over the fans of New York. Perhaps that’s an MVP accomplishment all by itself.
Everything aside, it was an outstanding game in an outstanding ballpark — one of the game’s best throughout the years.
As Yankee Stadium prepares to close its doors on a long and fruitful history, this year’s installment of baseball’s All-Star game was just another great contest in a baseball cathedral.
Of course, had the game gone any longer I imagine commissioner Bud Selig wouldn’t have had that big smile on his face. But it still counted right?

URIAH HEEP - Demons and Wizards (1972)
quite a historic album, and very important to save prog music (radical progheads intention quail at this). the fancy themes are here for the primary time and uh was the gold medal major band to buy this philanthropic of subject that i can remember. it´d persuade many other artists in the approaching, both in prog and massive metal. and, as a band cialis ohne rezept, they reached their peak here and on the magician´s birthday.
With the addition of Gary Thain on bass and Lee Kerslake on drums, the group finally found the right line up and the perfect overall sound. What was promising in the past was now fully delivered. The chemistry was perfect and I must say that Thain is one of the most underrated bassist is rock history. The guy was simply amazing, with a style that reminds of Paul McCartney (fluid, melodic, filling all the gaps, amazing!). Ken Hensley has always pointed how important he was to form the classic UH sound and often cited him as the best musician the band ever had. Too bad th guy wa also very shy and addicted to heroin. But that´s another story.

Teh music is also amazing and influential over the years. There are no weak tunes and the sound is quite unique. Personally I found Circle Of hands, Easy Livin´and the Wizard the most remarkable songs, but everything fits very well, with the fantastic Roger Dean cover to wrap up the perfect album.
Like Bob wrote, it´s not easy to write about this album without passion. It was one of the most important rock albums in history and if the band never really got the recognition they deserve it was not their fault. This is a truly prog album, in the deep (and subtle) meaning of the concept. And although I still think The magician´s Birthday is better, this is a classic, a masterpiece. Dare I say though, it was absolutely worth it. Fine-dining is never meant to be a cheap affair.
I dined at The Steakhouse once only on Chinese New Year’s Eve. It’s a special occassion so we all thought about splurging a little bit.
It was such a fantastic meal, my mouth waters just thinking about it. We had Yee Sang (raw salmon and jelly fish) served in cocktail glasses, chicken consomme in a Chinese teapot, garoupa grilled to perfection and beautifully presented.
In terms of visual presentation, it’s 10/10. In terms of taste, it’s another 10/10.
Unfortunately, mathematics tells us 10×10 = 100, and I got the shock of my life when the bill comes up to RM100 per person.
Having dined at most of the other finer restaurants around Kuching, I have no doubt in saying that The Steakhouse beats all competition with its boot firmly impaled up their arses.

What I like about this place is its range of delectable grills. Their steaks are juicy and their chicken chop are so tender it literally melts in your mouth. You can never go wrong with the meat here.
They have quite a sense of humour when it comes to naming their mocktails.
This one is called Malaysian Sunrise. Orange juice with grenadine syrup topped up with 7-Up.
And this mixture of chocolate milk with sprite is called Michael Jackson.
Why? Because it’s black and white.
